These terms govern your use of Sten. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them — especially the disclaimer and liability sections.

1. The service

Sten provides an embeddable AI chat assistant (“Ava”) that answers your website visitors from the knowledge you provide and captures leads for you, along with a dashboard to manage it. Features may change as the product evolves.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@sten-ai.com if you suspect unauthorised access. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use Sten for anything unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or infringing;
upload knowledge-base content you don't have the rights to, or that is unlawful;
attempt to breach, overload, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service;
resell or white-label the service without our written permission;
use the assistant to collect data in violation of applicable law.

We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or put the service or others at risk.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you provide (your knowledge base, greeting, and settings). You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to operate the service for you. You are responsible for the content and for having the rights to use it.

5. AI output

Ava is AI-generated. Replies are produced by an AI model from the facts you supply and may be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for the knowledge you give the assistant and for reviewing what it tells your visitors. Ava's output is not legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice.

6. Visitor data

For visitor conversations and leads collected through your widget, you are the data controller and Sten is your processor. You are responsible for having your own privacy notice and a lawful basis to collect that data, and for honouring your visitors' rights. See our Privacy Policy.

7. Billing & trial

Sten is offered as a monthly or annual subscription, starting at €49 per month (higher tiers are priced as shown on our pricing page), and begins with a 7-day free trial — no card required to start. After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription. You can cancel any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes. We'll give notice before any price change.

8. Availability

We work to keep Sten available and reliable, but the service is provided on an “as available” basis without an uptime guarantee, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We are an early-stage product and will tell you about significant changes where we reasonably can.

9. Intellectual property

Sten, its software, branding, and design are owned by us and protected by law. These terms grant you a right to use the service, not ownership of it.

10. Termination

You can stop using Sten and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, non-payment, or to protect the service or others. On termination, your right to use the service ends; we may delete your data after a reasonable period (see the Privacy Policy).

11. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sten is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including your statutory consumer rights).

12. Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, and disputes are subject to the courts of Finland, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. We may update these terms and will change the “last updated” date; continued use after changes means you accept them. Questions: support@sten-ai.com.
